Wendy Cooper

I retired after teaching Physical Education for 30 years. Since then I started my own business called Healthy Highway.

Over the last 5 years of my teaching, I developed a nutrition program based on a traffic theme. I noticed every year the program grew and the children were actually embracing the concepts. By the time I retired I knew this was something I needed to share with other professionals.

I put together a kit that includes a curriculum and tools to use to teach nutrition and exercise concepts to K-5 students. I have three pilot schools that have taken my program and made it school-wide, developing teams of teachers to be the main "drivers". I have presented at state and national Health and Physical Education conferences. There is not a better compliment than to have a teacher or school embrace your ideas, and then expand on them. I truly enjoy sharing my program and hope that I can help students and their families across the country.
